The Versailles High School golf team competed in the Sacred Heart Tournament Monday, April 19 at the Sedalia Country Club in Sedalia.
“Conditions were tough, and it’s a difficult course,” said Coach Kyle Nolawski. “We played the ball down in the rough, which changes the game on that particular course, and our scores reflect that.”
Versailles finished with a team score of 405. Sacred Heart were tourney champions with a team score of 357.
Kyle Bartlett shot 94, followed by Joel Faron with 98, Josh Denman with 109, Zach Wegener wtih104, and Joseph Courter with 125.
Stover Tournament
The Tigers competed in the Stover Tournament Thursday, April 22 at Rolling Hills Country Club in Versailles.
“This didn’t go how we expected it to in this tournament,” said Nolawski. “Unfortunately we did not see the same success we normally do at this tournament. It seemed like a very off day that took us all by surprise. In addition, Joel Faron was out with an injury.”
Lowest shooter was Kyle Bartlett with 98 points, followed by Josh Denman with 100, Zach Wegener with 103, Joseph Courter with 121, and Logan Kilmer with 121.
Versailles team score was 422.
