Stover was almost immediately in foul trouble and Versailles was landing their free throws finishing with 17 of 21 shots made.

The Tigers have great three-point shot ability and when left open they take full advantage of this. The Bulldogs failed to pick up on this and the Tigers were making the majority of their threes. Eli Gulyayev made 10 out of 11 free throws.

Versailles took control of the pace of the game leaving the Bulldogs clambering to keep up.

“We played with a lot of energy defensively in this game and it paid off,” said Coach Jason Ollison. “We managed to control the tempo which was very important in this game.”

Mikhail Gulyayev opened shooting with a three-point shot. The Tigers made a quick turnover allowing Bartlet to find an opening for a layup, scoring the second shot of the game.

After that, it was a tight game as Dixon matched the Tigers in shooting. Versailles once again dominated with their three-point shots overtaking Dixon who only managed five to Versailles’ 11.
