The Versailles cross country teams competed in the Russellville Cross Country Race, Saturday, Oct. 10 at Russellville High School.
“Russellville created a new course this year and it had our runners on every type of surface: grass, rocks, dirt, mulch, concrete, blacktop, and even all-weather track,” said Coach Laura Piercy. “We didn’t get the best start as a team and got boxed in early. So all of our runners had to fight the whole race to catch back up to lead the pack. Grueling for sure, but our runners showed true grit by being able to do it!”
Seth Newton placed 15th with a time of 18:47.0.
Zach Radefeld placed 16th with a time of 18:47.1.
Matthew Radefeld finished 66th with a time of 21:40.3.
Ryley Pryor broke his personal record for the fifth time of the season finishing 67th with a time of 21:44.8.
Carmen Lemell ran her strongest race this season finishing 26th with a time of 24:24.6.
