The National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church in Laurie recently announced its 2021 summer program and Mass schedule.
The National Shrine plans four pilgrimages, including one specifically targeted to young people, for the summer season featuring nationally recognized speakers.
– May 22: Dr. Gregory Mary Thompson, speaking on Mary Conceived Without Sin and Our Spiritual Mother and Mary’s Mantle of Protection, Against the World, the Flesh and the Devil.
– June 19: Author and presenter on EWTN’s Journey Home and Women of Grace, Denise Bossert, will discuss The New Evangelization Via Elizabeth and Mary.
– July 24: First Youth Pilgrimage with Maggie Craig discussing Courage.
– Sept. 25: Father William Korte speaking about Mary, Model for All Women and Mary and the Sense of the Sacred at the Holy Mass.
All pilgrimages begin with registration 8:30 a.m. and offer two sessions with the speaker, Confessions, Adoration, Benediction, lunch (provided), Rosary, and the Divine Chaplet, culminating with Mass 4:30 p.m.

The Summer Mass schedule for Memorial Day, May 29 to Labor Day, Sept. 5 is: Saturday evening 8 p.m.; Sunday morning 8:30 a.m.
The last Saturday evening Mass is at 8 p.m. Sept. 4.
Sunday morning Mass at 8:30 a.m. continues through Sept. 26.
Three special celebrations are also scheduled:
– May 9 Mother’s Day Mass 10:15 a.m. All women receive a long-stemmed rose.
– May 24 Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church. Mass at 7 p.m. Bishop Shawn McKnight presiding.
– June 6 Corpus Christi Mass and Eucharistic Procession
With seating capacity of 6,000 people for outdoor Masses, all attending can be placed as far apart as they wish (far more than six feet). Eucharistic Ministers, masked volunteers from St. Patrick’s parish, bring the Eucharist to participants in their places, limiting contact with other persons.
