The Versailles Rural Fire Protection District’s new ladder truck purchased from California Fire is now fully serviced and will get the lettering from BW Graphics applied, as reported Wednesday, Oct. 27 during the district’s board of directors meeting in Versailles.
The lighting for the flagpoles in front of Station 1 will have dusk to dawn lights installed. Kidwell-Garber Granite Works will be contacted to discuss a plaque with names of fallen firefighters engraved on it..

The board discussed downsizing the district’s fleet of trailers instead of adding a new structure to Station 3 and, instead, making use of the existing buildings.
The district responded to 25 incidents in September with an average response time of 8:35 minutes. Calls included 14 medical assist, assist EMS crew; two EMS calls excluding vehicle accident with injury; one motor vehicle accident with no injuries; two motor vehicle accident with injuries; one building fire; one forest, woods or wildland fire; one rescue or EMS standby; two assist invalid; one false alarm or false call.
The next meeting of the Versailles Rural FPD board is scheduled 7 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 17 at Station 1, Route D and Highway 52 in Versailles.
