Ronald Dean Robert Smith, age 72, of Barnett, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born July 24, 1946, in Versailles, a son of the late Burnice Smith and Dessie (Sidebottom) Inman.
On February 6, 1971, he was united in marriage to Frances M. Martin, who preceded him in death on May 7, 2009.
He was a United States Army veteran having served in Vietnam.
He was employed at FASCO in Eldon for thirty years until his retirement.
His passion was restoring cars, especially Ford Mustangs. He was an avid model car collector and fan of John Wayne.
He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Wilson of Barnett and Dawn Welch of Versailles; granddaughters, Sheena Smith and Cherokee Smith; brother, Michael Smith of Barnett; sister, Melva Vogt of Versailles and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 8th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Reverend Danny Owsley officiating.
Graveside services and interment with full military honors will follow in the Versailles Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
