The Lake Area Community Orchestra will be in concert 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 27 at the Royal Theatre in downtown Versailles.
The group reported they were “glad to be playing again and are marching on with our summer schedule” after having to cancel shows during the coronavirus pandemic.
The concert at the Royal is a free summer concert and is open to the public.
In existence for more than 30 years, the members in this 35-piece orchestra come from many communities in the Lake of the Ozarks region.
Musical selections in store for audiences at the free summer concert include: America, the Beautiful; Chimes of Liberty March; Double Concerto; God of our Fathers; and the 1812 Overture. The orchestra usually closes with Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever.
The group’s new director this year is Andrew Drennan. He has played in military bands for more than 20 years.
