Mary Irene Slinkerd, 95, of Troy, formerly of Versailles, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2019 at The Arbors at Sugar Creek in Troy.
She was born, March 25, 1924 in Moundsville, a daughter of Charles Hughes and Jessie Mae (Tetrick) Roseberry.
She married Robert Thomas Slinkerd June 5, 1971 in Kansas City. He preceded her in death Nov. 18, 2001.
She lived most of her life in the St. Joseph area. After she married, they made their home in Raytown and later moved to the Lake of the Ozarks.
She retired to Troy.
She enjoyed sewing, shopping, and taking a yearly Harley-Davidson motorcycle ride with a group of widows from her church.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy and formerly a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Versailles.
She is survived by children Dale Lindsey and wife Judy of Troy, Ronald Lindsey and wife Jennifer of McMinnville, Tenn. Dennis Slinkerd and wife Charleen of Salt Lake City, Utah, Diane Slinkerd of Las Vegas, Nev., Mary Ann Cobb and husband Dennis, and Patti Gurrola and husband Lionel all of Salt Lake City, Utah; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 30 years, she was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers Charles Roseberry and James Elkins; and sisters Peggy Vaccara, Louise Doyle, Martha Roseberry, and Rosalie Stout.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
Burial was in Versailles Cemetery.
Memorial contributions were suggested to Citizens Against Domestic Violence.
