Co-Mo Connect recently awarded $25,000 in scholarships to 25 area students. Scholarship recipients who graduated from Morgan County R-I school include Keaton Cochran (Kansas State University), Dawson Propst (State Fair Community College) and Heather Siegel (University of Central Missouri). Also receiving the scholarship from Morgan County R-II school is Bentley Elliott (Missouri State University). The scholarships are part of Co-Mo Connect’s Operation Round Up program. Co-Mo members contribute to the Operation Roundup fund by opting in to have their electric bill rounded up to the next whole dollar.
To be eligible for the award, students must permanently reside within a Co-Mo Electric Cooperative service area and plan to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school. Recipients of the award are selected by the Co-Mo Cares Board of Directors. Since Operation Round Up began, Co-Mo had awarded more than $670,000 in scholarships to students in their service area.
