Leo C. Dillon

Leo C. Dillon, 84, of Cole Camp died Feb. 14, 2021 at his home.

He was born March 20, 1936, a son of Marion and Mary Dillon.

He married Glenalee Schlesselman Dec. 25, 1958. She survives of the home.

He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and served in the United States Army. After his discharge from the Army, he worked at the Lincoln MFA Elevator and for MFA Patron Engineering. He retired in 2001 as a maintenance worker in the Lincoln School District. After retirement, he delivered meals for the Cole Camp Senior Center until his health failed him.

Besides his wife, he is survived by sister Joyce Laughinghouse; an aunt; brothers-in-law Larry and wife Judy Schlesselman and Cecil and wife Joyce Schlesselmann; sisters-in-law Sharel and husband Robert Wienberg, Suzanne and husband Larry Lutjen, Debbie and husband Larry Vaughan, and Sharon Dillon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Lloyd Dillon, Leroy Dillon, and Lester Dillon; and sister Gladys Harms.

Graveside services were Saturday, Feb. 20, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery near Cole Camp with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp. Pallbearers were Kenneth Schlesselman, Travis Rodewald, Brandon Rodewald, Bruce Wienberg, Scott Hutchinson, and Elo Osoego.

A celebration of life observance was Saturday, Feb. 20, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp with Pastor Stephen Zeller officiating.

Memorial contributions were suggested to the Seniors of North Benton County or St. Paul’s Cemetery Fund in care of the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp.
