Kenneth T. Brown, 90, of Laurie, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at his home.
He was born Nov. 3, 1928, in Le Center, Minn., a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Sullivan) Brown.
He married Josephine (Barnett) Brown June 22, 1956, in Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Security Intelligence serving in World War II.
He and his wife founded Golden Beach Marina, owning it until their retirement in December 1986.
At the age of 60, he pursued his hobby of painting. His paintings won many awards and hung in exhibits throughout several states. He enjoyed teaching painting to others. When he wasn’t painting, he was working in his yard.
He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie.
He is survived by his wife, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, Feb. 11, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie with Father John Schmitz celebrating. Graveside services and interment were in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Laurie.
Memorial contributions were suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
