John “Jack” “Skip” Lorimer II

John Lorimer, 75, of Gravois Mills, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.

He was born July 7, 1945, in Kansas City, the son of Robert James and Virginia (Harper) Lorimer.

Also known as Jack and Skip, he was raised in the Kansas City area. He received a master’s degree in economics from University of Missouri-Kansas City.

He lived in San Fransisco, Calif. seven years before returning to Kansas City.

He had a career in computer-related sales. He retired in 2005 as president of Schultz and Associates.

He was a life member of Elks Lodge #26 in Kansas City and a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #624 in Osage Beach.

He purchased a waterfront house at Lake of the Ozarks where he enjoyed hosting parties. An accomplished trained chef, he prepared meats, barbecue, and smoked meats. He competed in barbecue competitions with friends who called themselves WBBas.

He is survived by life partner Vicki Scott of the home; children Courtney Mayorga and husband Carl, and R.J. Lorimer II all of Overland Park, Kan.; five grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Catharine Lorimer.
A celebration of life observance will be at a later date.

Memorial contribution are suggested to Elks Lodge #26 in Kansas City to assist with charitable work.
