In a special session of the Morgan County R-II School Districe Board of Education Friday, May 28, the board approved a bid for new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units (HVAC) for the middle and high school gymnasiums.
A low bid of $450,000 from BDC Services of Gravois Mills for the new HVAC units in the middle school and high school gymnasiums was approved unanimously.
Other bids included $498,700 from Mechanical Services, Inc. of Springfield; $518,784 from Anderson Mechanical of Kansas City; and $342,553 from ACR of Sedalia. The ACR bid was not complete and no bond was provided.
R-II Superintendent Steven Barnes said the district has a “good working relationship with BDC and we have done business with them in the past. They were thorough in the preparation of their bids and visited the site multiple times to be sure they were providing/receiving accurate information. In addition, they are low bid for the project in its entirety, except for the ACR bid which was incomplete.
