Gale B. (Hays) Teeple, 93, of Versailles, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
She was born March 7, 1926, to Edgar J. and Gladys M. (Allee) Hays in Latham.
She graduated from Latham High School and taught school at Pleasant Hill Grade School, a one-room school near Latham. She later worked 16 years as a teacher’s aide at Morgan County R-II High School in Versailles.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Versailles. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and sewing.
She married Leonard C. Teeple July 28, 1944. He preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1995.
She is survived by children Diann Holsten and husband Virgil of Stover, Lonnie Teeple and Kenny Teeple of Versailles, and Ricky Teeple of Liberty; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister Maxine Parkes; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, and sister Margaret Robinson.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 28 at Calvary Baptist Church in Versailles, with Pastor Chad Courter officiating.
Graveside services and interment were in the Versailles Cemetery.
Memorial contributions were suggested to Calvary Baptist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
