Morgan County Sheriff Norman Dills, reported Tuesday evening, Jan. 8 the subject of a manhunt, Revious Hamilton, Jr. 50, of Ivy Bend, was apprehended without incident in White County, Ark. by deputies with the White County Sheriff’s Office. Hamiton had been on the run nearly 11 days.
Hamilton was wanted in connection with a shooting 6 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28 at a residence on Bear Claw Road off of Ivy Bend Road.
Dills reported the Sheriff’s Office received information Sunday afternoon, Jan. 6, that Hamilton was seen in the Mallard Bay Area, possibly near Luvin Road and Boyd Road. Dills reported “extensive search by ground and air” was conducted, but no evidence of Hamilton was found in the area.
According to information released by the sheriff’s office, the victim was able to identify the subject who shot him. Hamilton lives across the street from the victim and alledgedly started verbally assaulting the victim and then fired several rounds from a handgun at the victim.
Hamilton left the scene of the shooting on foot armed with the handgun. Deputies conducted a ground search utilizing a K9 and searched several unoccupied structures in the area. They were unable to locate the suspect. Missouri Highway Patrol Aircraft Division assisted with a search from the air which also yielded no results.
The Morgan County Prosecutors Office has filed the following charges: Assault – 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of A Firearm.
According to a Sheriff’s Office representative, the victim is recovering and has been released from the hospital.
