Dorothy Dell Pritzel
Dorothy Dell Pritzel, 86, of Cole Camp, died Sunday, July 4, 2021, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
She was born April 16, 1935, on the family farm north of Stover, a daughter of Atwill and Ora (Tagtmeyer) Stucker.
She was baptized May 15, 1935, at her parents’ home north of Stover by Pastor D. E. Meyer and was confirmed April 10, 1949, at Christ Lutheran Church in Stover by Pastor H. A. Kolm.
She attended Hinken School through the eighth grade and was valedictorian of the Stover High School Class of 1953. While attending school, she worked on the farm.
She graduated from Central Business College in Kansas City, where she was a member of the honor society. She was an accountant for United States Safety Services in Kansas City, Kraft Foods in Versailles, and Emma Creamery in Stover, where she met her future husband while he was unloading milk.
She married LeRoy Pritzel July 27, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church parsonage in Pyrmont. The Rev. Fred Wielke united them in marriage. They lived in Stover until moving to the farm in 1967, and then moved to Cole Camp in 2012.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Stover, where she taught Sunday school. She was a farm wife, bookkeeper, and 4-H leader and enjoyed playing piano and square dancing.
She is survived by her husband of the home; daughter June Ramer of Kansas City; sons Daniel Pritzel of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Gerald Pritzel of Cole Camp; sister Joy Shackelford and husband Darrell of St. Charles; brother William Stucker and wife Joan of Blue Springs; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and son-in-law Eric Ramer.
Funeral services were Friday, July 9, at Christ Lutheran Church in Stover with Pastor Tom Tuura officiating. Burial was in Stover Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Shackelford, Junior Hayward, Scott Brandes, Bryan Bahrenburg, Greg Bahrenburg, Doug Dieckman, Marvin Dieckman, and Roger Dieckman.
Memorial contributions were suggested to Christ Lutheran Church in care of the Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp.
