The Versailles Lady Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-0 loss to Capital City Thursday, Oct. 8 in Versailles.

Capital City scored on a home run by Coulson and a home run by Stieferman in the first inning.
The Lady Tigers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Capital City, giving up nine runs.
Capital City got on the board in the first inning when Coulson hit a solo homer.
One bright spot for Versailles was a triple by Maris Ollison in the first inning.
Wood earned the win for Capital City. Wood went seven innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out 19.
Joscelynn Marriott took the loss for Versailles. Marriott went four innings, allowing nine runs on 12 hits, striking out three and walking zero.
Capital City socked two home runs on the day. Coulson went for the long ball in the first inning. Stieferman had a four bagger in the first inning.
Ollison led with one hit in two at bats.
Capital City saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Karr, Coulson, Stieferman, Schanuth, Brizendine, and Wood each managed multiple hits for Capital City. Capital City didn’t commit a single error in the field. Karr had 19 chances in the field, the most on the team.
Versailles vs Hallsville
The Versailles Lady Tigers couldn’t keep up with Hallsville and fell 11-1 Monday, Oct. 12 in Hallsville.
Versailles got things moving in the first inning, when Kourtney Rainey singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Hallsville evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning when an error scored one run for Hallsville.
Hallsville pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Blakemore hit a solo homer and an error scored one run for Hallsville.
Hallsville scored five runs in the fifth inning. Lucas, Austine, and Jones powered the big inning with RBIs.
Cobb was the winning pitcher for Hallsville. Cobb surrendered one run on two hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.
