Robert Joseph “Bob” Kensinger, 90, of Gravois Mills, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach.
He was born Feb. 2, 1929 in Independence, a son of Harliegh B. and Agnes (Duling) Kensinger.
He married Marjorie Ann Fleetwood Oct. 10, 1948 in Independence. She preceded him in death Dec. 7, 2017.
He was raised in the Independence and Raytown areas. He began a career with the Internal Revenue Service shortly after high school. As part of his service to the I.R.S., he worked in Martinsburg, W.Va., Washington, D.C., Cincinnati, Ohio, and San Francisco, Calif.
He retired in 1987 to the Lake of the Ozarks.
He was a member of the Osage Community Elks Lodge #2705 in Laurie. He enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by children Michael Kensinger of Gravois Mills, Gary Kensinger and wife Susan of Pleasant Hill, Joyce Dickman and husband Dave of Loveland, Ohio, and Jeanette Houston and husband Paul of Florence, Ky.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, his parents, and brothers Bernard Kensinger and Bill Kensinger.
A family funeral service will be at a later date.
Entombment will be in Garber Memorial Estates in Laurie.
