Bark for Life of Morgan County, a canine event to fight cancer, is coming to the Laurie Fairgrounds 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15. The American Cancer Society’s Bark for Life honors canine companions and is a non-competitive walk for dogs and their owners to raise money for awareness in the fight against cancer.
Registration begins 9 a.m. and opening ceremony is 10 a.m. All dogs must be on a leash and have a handler. All dogs must have current vaccinations and be a minimum of 12 months old. Registration is $20 for one dog and one walker ($10 each).
All walkers must clean up after their dogs.
Recognition will be offered for “best dressed dog” and “most looks like their owner.” In addition dogs may be judged to determine best bark, friendliest, best trick, longest/shortest tail, smallest/largest dog, cutest dog, fluffiest dog, best groomed, ugliest dog, etc.
A doggie kissing booth, doggie parade, and doggie obstacle course will also be featured.
Vendor spaces are available at $50.
