Ashley Ball receives a free frozen turkey Thursday, Nov. 18 from worker with Powerhouse Community Development during a food distribution at Food for Morgan County in Versailles. Powerhouse distributed 100 turkeys for Food for Morgan County clients and 40 for Powerhouse clients. Working in the delivery truck were Rico Espinoza, Heaven Amos, and Jerrad Gilpin.
Versailles High School students recently participated in the Voice of Democracy essay contest, sponsored by the George M. Waddell VFW Post 5178 in Morgan County. Joseph Courter, left, and Mia Hunter were recently selected as finalists in a Co-Mo Connect youth essay contest. Top scorers were invited to make a presentation at a dinner honoring the finalists. Courter was chosen as the representative for Morgan County R-II High School and will attend an all-expense-paid, week-long leadership conference in Washington D.C.
