Billie June Hibdon
Billie June Hibdon, 87, of Laurie, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Laurie Care Center in Laurie.
She was born March 3, 1934 in Camden County, Missouri, a daughter of William H. and Velma E. (Green) Patterson.
She married Glen Everett Hibdon Nov. 21, 1953. He preceded her in death June 19, 2010.
The Patterson family moved to Morgan County when she was a girl and she graduated high school in Versailles. She worked various jobs and retired from Gates Manufacturing. The couple managed Morgan County Gas and later owned and operated Hibdon Gravel many years. Milking cows and tending to horses was part of her daily life on the family farm.
The family enjoyed traveling to show horses, camping, riding horses, and attending the Cross-Country Trail Ride in Eminence. She recently received her 30-year belt buckle for attendance at the event.
She was a long-time member of Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie.
She is survived by children Ernie Hibdon and wife Janet, and Beverly Gibson both of Laurie; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a cousin; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, she was also preceded in death by her parents; siblings Joe Patterson, Dorothy Waisner, Freida Laughhunn, Hazel Scott, Ruth West, Jackie Patterson, Mary Lou Pipes and Bud Patterson; and great-grandson Cooper Brian Hibdon.
A graveside service and burial was Sunday, July 18, at Ozark Chapel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions were suggested to Ozark Chapel Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s choice.
