Lewis Andrew “Jay” Banks, Jr., 86, of Grandview, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Life Care Center of Grandview.
He was born March 3, 1931 in Bay, Ark., a son of Lewis Andrew Banks, Sr. and Hellen (Hancock) Banks.
He married Joyce Erlene Neher Aug. 17, 2007 in Grandview.
He was raised in Arkansas and Kansas City, Kan. He served in the United States Navy. After being honorably discharged, he moved to Grandview. He retired to the Gravois Mills area of the Lake of the Ozarks.
He attended First Baptist Church of Gravois Mills and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife; son Donnie Banks and wife Terri of Lebanon; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews; stepson Keith Corder of Grandview; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous siblings.
Funeral services were Friday, July 7, at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles.
Burial with military honors was in Versailles Cemetery.
Memorial contributions were suggested to American Cancer Society.
