Gwendolyn June Cox, 87, of Fortuna, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at the Golden Age Living Center in Stover.
She was born April 20, 1930, in Syracuse, a daughter of the late Cleo “Bill” and Mary (Birch) Mullins.
She married Lester Robert Haldiman who preceded her in death March 1980. Later, she married Robert Cox who preceded her in death.
She worked for Dr. Stonner in Tipton as a dental assistant for 38 years. Later, she was employed at Walmart in Versailles for 16 years until her retirement at 84.
She was a member of the Tipton Country Club and enjoyed quilting.
She is survived by son Darrel Haldiman and wife Dorothy of Fortuna; daughter Barbara Baldwin and husband Danny of Hoover, Ala.; stepson Chris Cox of Smithton; stepdaughters Tina Gunn and Rina Freeman, both of Camdenton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by son James “Jim” Haldiman, stepson, Steve Cox, brother Ronald Mullins, and sister Barbara Kasper.
Graveside services and interment were Friday, October 6 at the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse.
Memorial contributions were suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
