The band plays original Ozark Blues and Roots Country. Byrd is a Missouri Arts Council Touring Performer and has done cross country solo tours and shows in both Nashville, Tenn. and Austin, Texas. The band has released eight CDs, the newest recording is ”Moline,” scheduled to be out this fall.  “We have already signed publishing contracts for three of the songs on “Moline,” said Byrd.

Byrd has won a national songwriting award from Billboard Magazine and has one overseas tour in Ireland on his resume. He is a member of the Missouri Blues Society, the Nashville Songwriters Association International, and the Tennessee Songwriters Association.

The current Backroad Band CD “Roots and Ozark Blues” is receiving radio airplay both nationally and internationally on selected stations. The Backroad Band will be performing with Byrd at Bee’s Knees: Joe Dunlap on lead guitar; Ray Spiller on Cajon; and Byrd on vocals and acoustic guitar.
