Bobbie L. Grimes, 74, of Versailles, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. Bobbie L. Grimes, 74, of Versailles, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.  She was born Aug. 24, 1943, in White Wright, Texas, a daughter of the late Thelbert Wade and Tiance (Smith) Coggins. She married James Roland “Skip” Grimes. He preceded her in death in 2001. She worked as a certified nurse’s aide at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles until her retirement after 25 years. She was a member of the Versailles First Baptist Church. There, she served as vice-president of the Lottie Moon Mission Fund.  She enjoyed volunteering at Head Start and also at Morgan County R-II schools in Versailles. She also served as a 4-H and Girl Scout leader for many years. She is survived by children Carole Gaither and husband Cecil of Kansas City, Richard Wallace of Arlington, Texas, Sandra Odom and husband Bryan of Van Buren, Ark., and Tonja Ferguson and husband Eric of Versailles; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister Patricia Clinton of Dallas, Texas; and many other relatives and friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Betty McCullom and Nell Arnold. A celebration of life observance is scheduled 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Versailles First Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Martin officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Morgan County Caring for Kids Coalition.  Cremation arrangements under direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
